Reflexology for Menopause.
Reflexology can help relieve the symptoms of many conditions, including stress and depression. Plus it’s a relaxing form of therapy to keep you looking and feeling great.
What Is Menopause?
The Menopause is a natural change in the female reproductive system that normally occurs between the ages 41 and 55, although perimenopausal symptoms may occur earlier. It is the process in a woman’s body when the ovaries stop producing the hormones oestrogen and progesterone. The body then reacts to the loss of hormones through several varying symptoms which can include:
hot flushes
night sweats
tiredness
depression
weight gain
anxiety
poor concentration
memory lapses
Menopause Treatment
Some women are happy to take medication such as HRT whilst many others prefer to go down the holistic therapy route. One of the most common problems I encounter with menopausal clients is very low self-confidence as many of them struggle with the troublesome menopause symptoms and to fight the unattainable victory against ageing. It also happens in a woman's life when they have others stresses, such as children leaving home, elderly parents who need more care and maybe their careers are reaching a turning point. If you're going through the perimenopause or menopause, it's really important to know that it's a perfectly natural process that takes time - you're not ill (even though it feels that way sometimes!). Every woman and her menopause is unique and as a Reflexologist I am here to: listen and support, provide relaxation and ease symptoms, offer general lifestyle advice, make your journey easier, help you find your zest for life again.
For you, it's a time to pause and reframe. Who do you want to be for the next phase of your life? How do you want to achieve this?
How Can Reflexology Help The Menopause?
Reflexology has been found to be very effective in helping both the physical and emotional symptoms of the menopause without the side effects associated with drug based treatments. It truly is a wonderful therapy to help women in their journey through the menopause. Reflexology will help to reduce the stress that can cause a lot of these symptoms, achieved by working on the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus and the adrenal reflex points. I can provide a stress-free zone in which to relax, unwind and revitalise. Having an empathic Reflexologist who understands the physical and emotional changes behind menopausal symptoms can really make the difference.Reflexology will help put hormones back into balance and act like a process of emotional cleansing which can relieve stress and restore harmony to the body and the soul.
